About Shimla

Shimla a little picturesque town located at the foothills Himalayas which offers a panoramic view of the snow clad Shivalik ranges. The history of Shimla is dated back to the Anglo-Gurkha War when it was taken over by British Troops. Soon thereafter Shimla (Shares its name from goddess Shymala Devi) became The Summer Capital of India.

Places to see

• The Mall: The Mall is the main promenade that runs two ways through The Scandal point, across the lane will find the Colonial Heritage left behind, souvenir shops and fine places to eat. Parallel to The Mall overhead is The Ridge, an open wide lane favorite rendezvous for both tourist and local natives. Overlooking The Ridge is Elegant Christ Church with painted stained glass windows.
  Viceroy Regal Lodge: One of the most spectacular mirages of Gothic era, now popularly known as Indian Institute of Advanced Studies is one of the must places to visit when in Shimla.
• Himachal State Museum: Located at a distance of approximately one Km away from Indian Institute of Advanced Studies is State Museum. The State Museum is house to some of the most spectacular cultural heritages of Himachal ranging from stone sculpture to local handicrafts to textile.
• Jakhoo Hill: Jakhoo Hill is the highest point of Shimla that offers a breath taking three sixty degree aerial view of the Town. On the top of the mountain peak is located Hanuman Temple.
• Glen: Glen is a place of vicinity adjacent to Annandale perfect for family picnic, major point of attraction here is a high hill waterfall.
• Chadwick Falls: Located at a walk in distance of thirty minutes from Summer Hill is Chadwick Fall a 67 Mtr waterfall, the best time to visit this place is during monsoons.
• Prospect Hill: A fifteen minutes uphill walk from Boileauganj is Prospect Hill another place that will offer panoramic view of the Shimla Town. At the top of hill is located Kamna Devi Temple.
• Daranghati Sanctuary: This is one of the least know wild life sanctuary located at the upper bounds of Shimla District. The century is surmounted by thick dense forest and is home to some of the rarest species of The Himalayan Kingdom.
